Our work in Riau is not a standalone field program. It runs through partner organizations and In.Allies volunteers. What we bring is ecological knowledge, a shared framework, and the connection to Hutan.in's broader network of practice.

Mangrove restoration along riverbanks protects against tidal flooding and sustains the freshwater fish breeding grounds livelihoods depend on. Environmental education connects local youth to these ecosystems before they disappear from view.

Through local partner networks, mangrove planting focuses on the river swamp zones of Pekanbaru, critical nurseries for freshwater fish and the first line of defense against tidal flooding for the communities who live along these riverbanks.
