Why This Pillar?

Social and ecological justice requires that communities hold genuine authority over the environments they live in. Hutan.in's Empowerment work supports this through direct field presence, capacity building, and long-term accompaniment.

In practice, this means Sekolah Rimbawan Kecil in Bogor — sustained environmental education for children in real ecosystems. It means In.Allies across five regions. And it means In.Waste, which builds practical waste management systems within communities over time.
