Adopt.In

Adopt. In connects people to a specific tree, in a specific ecosystem, tended by the community that lives there. Mangrove and terrestrial, with field updates on what happens to it.

Why Adopt.In?

Adopt a tree. Know where it is. Follow what happens to it. Adopt. In invites individuals and organizations to actively participate in ecosystem restoration by adopting trees for reforestation. When you adopt a tree through Hutanin, you are connected to a specific planting site, a specific ecosystem, and the community that tends it.
Choose your species. Receive field updates on growth and progress. Trees are mangrove and terrestrial, and the ecosystem type depends on the region: coastal edges in Bali, river swamp zones in Riau, hillsides in West Java, habitat corridors in East Kalimantan, and forest patches in Southeast Sulawesi.
When someone adopts a tree, the community tending that site knows it matters to someone outside their village. That relationship changes how both parties think about the work. Bulk adoption is available for corporate and institutional partners, geotagged, monitored, and reported annually.

What You're Connected To

  • Hillside Forest Patches. Reforestation guided by the ecological context of each specific site.

  • Connected to Sekolah Rimbawan Kecil. The same sites where the forest school holds its sessions.

  • Geotagged and Monitored. Field updates from the team based on-site.

Core Field Region · Anoa

In Kolaka, adopted trees cover both mangrove coastal edges and inland forest patches, including the mangrove-linked aquaculture pilot in Desa Totobo and Desa Towua, with species selection guided by the corridors the anoa depends on.

What You're Connected To

  • Mangrove and Terrestrial Plots. Coastal edges and inland corridors selected for ecological role.

  • Mangrove-Linked Aquaculture. Trees adopted as part of the Totobo and Towua pilot.

  • Anoa Habitat Connectivity. Species selection guided by the corridors the anoa depends on.

Core Field Region · SELAMAT.IN

In the Kutai Landscape, adopted trees are species selected as orangutan food sources, planted along degraded corridors to restore the forest connections that reduce human-wildlife conflict at its source.

What You're Connected To

  • Orangutan Food-Source Species. Trees selected for their role in orangutan diet and corridor habitat.

  • Degraded Corridor Restoration. Targeting the gaps where forest connectivity has broken down.

  • Foundation for SELAMAT.IN. Habitat restoration that reduces pressure before conflict happens.

Partnership Presence

In Bali, adopted trees go into coastal mangrove plots delivered through local partner networks, targeting the edges where mangroves give the most immediate protection for communities and sea turtle habitat.

What You're Connected To

  • Coastal Mangrove Plots. Targeted restoration where mangroves give the most immediate protection.

  • Sea Turtle Habitat. Coastal restoration that supports nesting habitat alongside community protection.

  • Local Network Delivery. Carried out through partner organizations already present on the ground.

Partnership Presence

In Riau, adopted trees go into river swamp mangrove plots delivered through local partner networks, in the zones around Pekanbaru that protect freshwater fish nurseries and buffer tidal flooding.

What You're Connected To

  • River Swamp Mangrove Plots. Targeting the riverbank zones where mangroves matter most for flood protection.

  • Freshwater Fish Nurseries. Protecting the breeding grounds local livelihoods depend on.

  • Local Network Delivery. Carried out through partner organizations already present on the ground.

Wildlife Adoption

Once SELAMAT.IN’s Stage 2 field monitoring program is operational, Adopt. In will expand to include orangutan and anoa adoption, connected to documented, traceable individuals in the Kutai Landscape and Kolaka. Not yet available. We will say clearly when it is.
